My name is Mike Shindel & I make custom one-of-a-kind high-performance blades, chef's knives, axes & swords. My blades are made how they were made thousands of years ago by shaping a red hot piece of steel with a hammer on an anvil. I do utilize modern technology like a power hammer, a hydraulic press, a mill, a lathe and a grinder among other tools to help me streamline & further enhance the knife making process. Everything is done ""in-house"" including Damascus, heat treat, wood & leather work. I am an active member of American Blade Society & will be going for my Journeyman Bladesmith stamp in the following year.
