Shipping Policy

Any customers with separate shipping and billing addresses are subject to follow up contact. If no contact can be made, your order will be cancelled. Please understand that this policy is to protect our customers from fraud and theft.

Shipping costs are calculated automatically when you checkout. Orders to P.O. Boxes or military addresses require shipping via USPS.

Orders placed by 3:00pm EST will be shipped the same day. All orders shipped USPS (including Express) may take an additional business day to process and ship. We strongly recommend shipping UPS if you need guaranteed delivery by a certain date.

For our international customers, you must call or email after ordering to arrange for duties/customs and declarations before we will ship your order. USPS Express International shipments with declarations greater than $200, incur an additional $15.00 fee for postage/insurance.

Layaway Information

Layaway Policies

We offer a layaway plan on select products so you may pay for your order over a period of 60 days. Products that are eligible for layaway will show "Layaway Available: Yes" on the product page.

Here's how it works:

The total amount of the order excluding shipping, tax, or fees is divided into three (3) equal payments. The first payment is due with the order, the second payment is due 30 days later, and the final payment is due 60 days after the order.

There is a $15 non-refundable fee for layaway orders. This fee is added to the first payment along with the shipping and any tax. The first payment is made when the order is placed.

Example: Your order total is $300 plus $12.75 shipping and handling. If you select the layaway option, your payments would be:

  • $127.75 (1/3 of purchase = $100 + $15 layaway fee + $12.75 shipping)
  • $100.00 (1/3 of purchase = $100)
  • $100.00 (1/3 of purchase = $100)

If your initial payment is made by credit card, we will automatically process the 2nd and 3rd payments at the appropriate time using the same credit card information. You will be reminded via email that a payment will be charged. If you need to change this for any reason, please contact us.

For payments made other than credit card, payment must be received within seven (7) days of the due date or the order is subject to cancellation. You will receive a reminder via email that a payment is due.

If you wish to complete payment early and have your order shipped, you may contact us at any time during the 60 day period. There is no penalty for prepayment.

Additional products may be added to a layaway order without penalty. A new payment schedule will be calculated based on when additional products are added.

Cancellations of layaway orders are subject to a restocking/processing fee of 10% of the order total (not including tax and shipping costs). This restocking fee is in addition to the $15 non-refundable layaway fee.

"I first discovered Suchat Jangtanong's work a few years back. My first impression was that it looked great, but I was hesitant to buy knives from an unfamiliar knifemaker that lived overseas. I later saw his work in person at a show and it was so beautiful and reasonably priced that I took a gamble and purchased two of his knives. I randomly sent them to a couple renowned makers who make knives for me and requested a complete evaluation. They both concurred that the work was beautiful, the materials were top quality and that the fit and finish was as professional as you get. They had no idea who the maker was, and I did not tell them, but both guessed the knives to be very expensive.

Suchat has been making knives since 1982 but his knives were sold abroad and only a few made their way to the USA. Now, for well over a year he has been making me knives and each is extraordinary. His designs are so varied, unique and artfully blended that they immediately capture your attention. Each folder he makes is patiently and meticulously crafted. Suchat also has a specially designed assisted opening mechanism that is present on many of his folders."
This knife is marked "KJ", and is from a special run of knives that were named after knifemaker Suchat Jangtanong's son, Keaitisak Jangtanong.

This assisted opening linerlock folder features a satin finish blade, anodized titanium double bolsters, and blue G10 scales. Anodized titanium clip. File work on blade spine, backspacer, and all around the liners. Blue G10 inlays in backspacer. Smooth and fast assisted opening. Perfect lockup. Very nice work. Mint condition. Blade Steel: ATS-34

About the Maker

Jangtanong (Suchat Custom Knives), Suchat

At the age of 14, I began my lifelong profession by becoming the third generation of knife makers in my family. I learned the trade by assisting my father and grandfather in our family's knife making business in the Uthai Thani province of Thailand. In order to continue to learn I attended the technical school and after graduating in 1982, I worked as a trainee with a knife making team. It was here that I first became known for my ability to carve pearl. In 1984, I opened my own shop. Just like my father and grandfather, I carry on the tradition of handcrafting each of my knives by using only the most basic equipment. I believe that the beauty of knife making is being able to feel what you are doing and having a true vision of the knife you are creating. I make folders and balisongs and my preferred handle material is carved or inlayed pearl, but it is very dangerous to work with as it will crack with the slightest error. For this reason, the number of knives I can make is limited to the mistakes I make. Because most of my knives go in collections I use a great deal of mosaic damascus created by Robert Calcinore and Tony Metsala. I believe this steel radiates boldness and brings my knives to life. I also use ATS-34, because it is strong and good for daily use. My personal favorite is Chad Nichols stainless Damascus steel, because it is beautiful and works well for everyday carry knives. Another characteristic of many of my knives is my spring mechanism. Suchat's work was displayed at the Antique Arms Show in Las Vegas in January 2011. R.B. Johnson was impressed with the quality and pricing of Suchat's knives and purchased two of them, and later bought three more in Atlanta at the Blade Show. Corrie Schoeman, a long standing member of the South Africa Knifemakers Guild, who was on the evaluation team for many years stated, "The knife that Suchat made is I think may be the nicest one I have ever seen. It is beautiful." Suchat's knives were on display at the Texas Knife Show in April 2011. Johnny Stout commented that they were "high quality and a great bargain for the price"" and Warren Osborne noted that "they are very nice knives". After seeing Suchat's knives at the 2011 Blade Show, Joe Kious remarked that "these knives are absolutely magnificent and an incredible value."
