Overview
This Rhyno by David Brown (Buy Brown Holsters) features a very unique chemically generated finish. This aggressive piece has a great feel in the hand and is inscribed "Proto, 4/24/10, #2". Piece in in great condition, shows no signs of use, bottom tip of blade is slightly blunted. Knife comes in a black kydex sheath. This is what Mr. Brown originally had to say about this piece when it debuted:
Here is a little background on this little guy.
"I came up with the idea of a neck knife I had not seen before.
I wanted something that had a hole you could put your finger through so that it was secure in your hand while it was wet or bloody or whatever.
That also had a small curved blade that would work well for skinning.
The back inside edge was sharpened so that the tip could penetrate with ease & also work as a gut hook.
Showed it around to quite a few of my knife making buddies to get input & to make sure I was not taking any ideas or copying anyone, & what I got from everyone was to "go for it"
So with lots of help from friends I got advise on what belts to get what machine to get & a general knowledge. Thanks to all of you it means the world to me.
Also there have been quite a few folks that have been silent for a long time helping me keep this under wraps until I was ready to let everyone see.
So this is what I came up with
My Rhyno;
It is a fixed blade.
These are prototypes & I am working them to what I would like.
The stainless Rhyno's
(440 c) satin finished
Are 3/16" thick, main edge is about a 3" cutting edge, back edge is a 1.5" cutting edge.Hardened to 59 - 60 Rockwell. Kydex neck sheath made by some guy in Az.
