The Story Behind the TOKO
The TOKO is my third "Shop-Built" knife, meticulously crafted by our talented team right here in our workshop. The design journey began in the spring of 2024, and I’ve documented the entire process in a series of videos on my YouTube channel. You can follow along to see how the TOKO came to life.

With the TOKO, my aim was simple but ambitious: to create a larger folding knife that excels as an everyday carry. I focused on making it lightweight, versatile, comfortable in hand, and packed with unique design details that truly set it apart.

This project is deeply personal to me. In 2024, I committed to starting each day with 90 minutes of design and sketching, a habit inspired by this very knife. I believe the result speaks for itself. The TOKO represents some of my very best work—a knife where every detail has been carefully thought out and perfected.

What Makes the TOKO Unique?
The TOKO is a versatile, large utility folding knife unlike anything you’ve handled before. It features:

Lightweight Innovation: Our “Mud-Track” milled weight-reduction pockets inside the frame make the TOKO exceptionally lightweight, almost disappearing in your pocket.

Signature Blade Design: Debuting our signature hollow-ground blade, it’s light, incredibly strong, and offers outstanding cutting performance.

Whether you’re tackling daily chores or taking on more demanding tasks, the TOKO is a reliable and stylish companion.

About the Maker

Anso, Jens
Anso, Jens

"I have been a knife maker since 1988 and have been full time since 2001. I started making knives in 1988 after reading an article in an old issue of Popular Mechanics and I made my first knife out of a big file using a bench grinder and a drill press as the only powertools. It was big and crude but I was very proud. Since then I have been hooked on knife making. My knowledge in knife making comes from reading books and magazines about knife making, corresponding with other knife makers and not the least learning by trial and error. I also credit the various forums about knives and knife making both for information, customers and friends. I have always had a great interest in craftsmanship and get inspired by all sorts of things ranging from traditional Japanese carpentry to modern architecture. I have a master degree in Industrial Design which has helped me a lot in refining my knife designs. After graduating I decided to become a full time maker and although it has been hard at times I have never looked back. I like being able to do what I like the most and enjoy being my own boss. I feel very fortunate that I can make a living of something I love so much. My workshop is my cave. I love being in the shop surrounded by tools and materials. Being able to do creative work everyday is a blessing."
