Shipping Policy

Any customers with separate shipping and billing addresses are subject to follow up contact. If no contact can be made, your order will be cancelled. Please understand that this policy is to protect our customers from fraud and theft.

Shipping costs are calculated automatically when you checkout. Orders to P.O. Boxes or military addresses require shipping via USPS.

Orders placed by 3:00pm EST will be shipped the same day. All orders shipped USPS (including Express) may take an additional business day to process and ship. We strongly recommend shipping UPS if you need guaranteed delivery by a certain date.

For our international customers, you must call or email after ordering to arrange for duties/customs and declarations before we will ship your order. USPS Express International shipments with declarations greater than $200, incur an additional $15.00 fee for postage/insurance.

 "An Ultimate Masterpiece of Craftsmanship" - these are the only words that adequately describe these remarkable KD Series Knife Collections, which are custom made by Mr. Hattori.

 Mr. Hattori is an uncompromising traditional craftsman and he utilizes all of his available energy, passion, and expertise to create these beautiful and outstanding cutting performance Cowry X Damascus knife collections which are made using ancient forging and sword making techniques.

 Each hand forged blade has a core layer of Cowry X and outer layers of Nickel-Stainless Damascus (SUS440 steel). Cowry X is a tough Powdered Metallurgy tool steel that was specially developed by Daido Steel Company for high-performance cutting tools. It contains a high volume of Carbon (3%) and Chromium (20%), some Molybdenum (1%) and a little Vanadium (0.3%).

Traditional Higonokami Folder of 3-inch Hattori's famous Cowry-X Powdered steel core forge layered with Nickel/Stainless Damascus blade with thumb opening lever,  3-3/4" Stainless Steel handle with lanyard.

About the Maker

Hattori, Ichiro

Ichiro Hattori is a renowned knife maker in the city of Seki, Japan. Seki is the most internationally well known of several cities famous in Japan for it’s history of cutlery and craftsmen going back some 800 years. He was born into a knife maker family and began his craft at the age of 18 in his father’s factory “Masahiro”, founded in 1932 and still one of Japan’s largest makers of culinary knives as one of the well known “3M”s (Masahiro, Masamoto, Misono). In 1971, Ichiro Hattori started his own business Hattori Hamono K.K. (Hattori Cutlery Co., Ltd.) to pursue his interest in sporting knives.
