Overview

The Middleman, Not Thirsty S serrations… “an homage to my favorite pew pew.”

I created The Middleman to have as many features as I could pack into one EDC “prybar” and make it for $200.  My intention for this piece is to not only become THE Flagship NGMCo. everyday carry piece, but also the everyday carry community in general.

In addition to what you may consider an “everyday carry” prybar, my intentions with the design include:

- a compact alternative to my personal favorite size of 5”, these measure 4.25”

- a hidden lanyard hole. (I personally carry a pry with the intention of it serving as an escape and evade tool, so a lanyard bead is an absolute must but I see a lot of folks use them “naked” so I wanted to sexy it up in that case.

- very wide scraper/pry tip.  I use my Prys as a scraper more than anything else so this is important to me. I also made the edges of the tip with a micro chamfer, so also scraper capable on the tip sides.

- grippy!  Deep machined serrations machined on front and back creates the grippiest NGMCo. pry yet!

- monolithic in hand feel.  The purpose of the extra wide pocket clip, which is recessed into the body, creates the most hot spot free prybar out there.

- "Not Thirsty” edition features a bottle opener delete for a streamlined look and feel.

About the Maker

Nice Guy Machine Co.

NGMCo. is owned and operated by me, Archie Ofenstein. I have been a gearhead and edc enthusiast my entire life. I spent my early adult years in Austin TX as a musician but quickly learned that the lifestyle was not for me. In 2003 I moved to Terlingua, TX to pursue work as an outdoor enthusiast. There I met an entire culture of guides in all facets of outdoor adventure. I quickly learned that guiding on the river would be my path. I spent the first several years mostly on the Rio Grande River in the Big Bend National Park & the Arkansas River in Chaffee County, CO. Moving forward, I decided to change it up and become a craftsman in the fall, winter & spring, saving what seemed like endless summers guiding on the Arkansas river & managing American Adventure Expeditions. Every day got better as they continue to do to this day. January 23, 2008 I started my YouTube channel became one of the first edc reviewers, mostly reviewing folding knives. As life has waxed and waned, the channel lulled and I kept on living. My edc gear enthusiasm has only grown and it finally came to the point where I had to be a maker. Not only that, but I need to buck the trend of outsourcing. All goods with the NGMCo. name will be designed and crafted by me in Colorado, USA. Cheers.
