Shipping Policy

Any customers with separate shipping and billing addresses are subject to follow up contact. If no contact can be made, your order will be cancelled. Please understand that this policy is to protect our customers from fraud and theft.

Shipping costs are calculated automatically when you checkout. Orders to P.O. Boxes or military addresses require shipping via USPS.

Orders placed by 3:00pm EST will be shipped the same day. All orders shipped USPS (including Express) may take an additional business day to process and ship. We strongly recommend shipping UPS if you need guaranteed delivery by a certain date.

For our international customers, you must call or email after ordering to arrange for duties/customs and declarations before we will ship your order. USPS Express International shipments with declarations greater than $200, incur an additional $15.00 fee for postage/insurance.

Overview

The venerable Native model has been a mainstay of the Spyderco product line since it was first released in 1997. During more than 20 years of service and five generations of evolution, it has been steadily refined into its current form — the Native 5. Combining all the time-tested qualities of the original design with enhanced ergonomics, incredibly precise lock tolerances, and four-position carry, it is arguably about as perfect as a lockback folding knife can be. So what could possibly make it better? For watersports enthusiasts, those who live in humid climates, or anyone else obsessively concerned with the threat of corrosion, the answer to that question is the Native 5 Salt.

In simple terms, the Native 5 Salt takes the incredibly popular Native 5 Lightweight platform and renders it entirely with ultra-corrosion-resistant materials. Simple terms, however, don't do this knife justice.

The next evolution of the Native 5 Salt combines all the proven features of the best-selling Native 5 Lightweight with the extraordinary properties of CPM-MagnaCut steel. Developed by Larrin Thomas, a Ph.D. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, CPM-MagnaCut's remarkable composition challenges traditional stainless steel chemistry by reducing the amount of chromium in the steel while adding precise amounts of vanadium and niobium to form carbides. The result is high-performance blade steel that offers an exceptional balance of wear resistance, toughness, and extreme corrosion resistance to make it worthy of inclusion in the elite Salt Series. Spyderco is proud to be one of the first companies to feature CPM-MagnaCut in a factory-made knife and the American-made Native 5 Salt is the perfect platform.
