Overview
Swiss Model 1918/55 bayonet issued with the K31 Carbine.
Only 13,300 of this M1918/55 bayonet were produced. The M1918/55 differs from the standard M1918 by having a more robust grip similar to the large M1914 bayonet. The M1918/55 is an overall heavier bayonet than the earlier M1918.
The 30cm double-edged blade terminates in a spear point. The ricasso is marked by the maker, “Elsener Schwyz” later to become Victorinox producer of the famous Swiss Army knife. The obverse ricasso is blank.
The polished steel crosspiece is stamped with a triangle and the Swiss cross.
The scabbard is also in great condition and retains its original black finish with minimal age and wear. Has brown leather frog.
Has some scratches and oxidation spots, otherwise good condition.
