Note from Huxley Walters:
The subject Model G, “Small Game and Fish” knife, 3/16” stock, with its leather ring handle was made by Ralph Bone in 1965 (prior to establishment of the Ralph Bone Knife Company) as identified by the first digit “5” in the serial number which faces the handle. On Ralph Bone Knife Co knives, the serial number was stamped facing the point of the blade, rather than facing the handle. Also, commencing in 1966, the Ralph Bone Knife Company declined to produce knives with leather handles. (There were two different models G knives. The second, the “Trout and Quail” was a smaller knife of 5/32” stock.)
