This is an especially nice little Model G “Trout and Bird” (alias “Carp and Buzzard”) knife, made at the Ralph Bone Knife Company by Enedino De Leon in 1978, about four years after Bone had departed from the company. The optional stag handle and contoured end cap make the knife, especially, appealing. Although it is not stamped “S” for stainless, the metal appears flawless and I suspect that it is stainless.
There is a comical little story, associated w/ Bone’s “Trout and Bird” model, which connotes Ralph Bone’s dry humor. About the same time that Bone designed his little knife model, Bo Randall, also, made a very similar knife, to which Randall had assigned the same name. Thus, Bone, comically, assigned a sub-name to his little knife model, “Carp and Buzzard” knife, to differentiate it from Randall’s model.
This is a beautiful little “Carp and Buzzard”. Huxley Walters
