Shipping Policy

Any customers with separate shipping and billing addresses are subject to follow up contact. If no contact can be made, your order will be cancelled. Please understand that this policy is to protect our customers from fraud and theft.

Shipping costs are calculated automatically when you checkout. Orders to P.O. Boxes or military addresses require shipping via USPS.

Orders placed by 3:00pm EST will be shipped the same day. All orders shipped USPS (including Express) may take an additional business day to process and ship. We strongly recommend shipping UPS if you need guaranteed delivery by a certain date.

For our international customers, you must call or email after ordering to arrange for duties/customs and declarations before we will ship your order. USPS Express International shipments with declarations greater than $200, incur an additional $15.00 fee for postage/insurance.

Overview

Pro-Tech has added a spring assisted model to their Tactical Response lineup, the TR-5. Similar in design to the TR-4 auto, the TR-5 is smaller and more pocket-friendly. The assisted opening mechanism was developed by custom knifemaker and designer Matthew Lerch. Unlike most spring assisted knives, the TR-5 offers almost instant Assist engagement that is powerful. Sufficient force is required to activate the mechanism, providing an added measure of safety. Best of all, the Pro-Tech TR-5 Assist is legal to carry in most places.

This TR-5 model has a black anodized aluminum handle with a two-tone black back spacer/lanyard attachment, and a deep carry tip-up pocket clip. The blade is stonewashed and outfitted with a thumb stud opener. The plunge lock enables safe use and provides solid lockup. Pro-Tech's TR-5 is an impressive addition to their lineup and boasts their longstanding build-quality and performance.

I enjoy the multiple challenges that knife making presents. When I make a knife I must consider mechanisms that are reliable, smooth, and easy to use; materials that meet physical demands, and optional enhancements that dress up the tool. Bringing all these aspects together to make a knife that works, feels good in your hand, and is attractive looking is my personal goal. Matthew's work often incorporates Damascus, exotic natural materials, engraving, and file work done by his Wife, Mary Jo. Matthew has been making knives since 1984 and has been a Journeyman Tool and Die maker since 1981."
