Layaway Information

Layaway Policies

We offer a layaway plan on select products so you may pay for your order over a period of 60 days. Products that are eligible for layaway will show "Layaway Available: Yes" on the product page.

Here's how it works:

The total amount of the order excluding shipping, tax, or fees is divided into three (3) equal payments. The first payment is due with the order, the second payment is due 30 days later, and the final payment is due 60 days after the order.

There is a $15 non-refundable fee for layaway orders. This fee is added to the first payment along with the shipping and any tax. The first payment is made when the order is placed.

Example: Your order total is $300 plus $12.75 shipping and handling. If you select the layaway option, your payments would be:

  • $127.75 (1/3 of purchase = $100 + $15 layaway fee + $12.75 shipping)
  • $100.00 (1/3 of purchase = $100)
  • $100.00 (1/3 of purchase = $100)

If your initial payment is made by credit card, we will automatically process the 2nd and 3rd payments at the appropriate time using the same credit card information. You will be reminded via email that a payment will be charged. If you need to change this for any reason, please contact us.

For payments made other than credit card, payment must be received within seven (7) days of the due date or the order is subject to cancellation. You will receive a reminder via email that a payment is due.

If you wish to complete payment early and have your order shipped, you may contact us at any time during the 60 day period. There is no penalty for prepayment.

Additional products may be added to a layaway order without penalty. A new payment schedule will be calculated based on when additional products are added.

If you wish to complete payment early and have your order shipped, you may contact us at any time during the 60 day period. There is no penalty for early payment.

Cancellations of layaway orders are subject to a restocking/processing fee of 10% of the order total (not including tax and shipping costs). This restocking fee is in addition to the $15 non-refundable layaway fee.

Home Products Rebel Framelock

Overview

From the TAD Gear website:

This run of the Burke Classic’s features a clip point recurve blade (Bushwacker) in dark tumbled in PSF 27. This edition comes with the Rambit Ring installed.

The Burke Knives Framelock Classic TAD Edition pays homage to the archetypal slipjoint knife of yesteryear. Known for for its ease of pocket carry and all-around utility, the slipjoint has been a ubiquitous design throughout the history of the folding pocket knife. Jim Burke has updated this classic design with a contemporary framelock for dependable lock-up, a pocket clip for secure carry, and modern, lightweight materials.

Taking it even further, the included Rambit ring allows the user multiple secure gripping positions for different applications. Choking back on the Rambit ring allows it to be used as a pinky catch for heavy long cuts, even more so with the pinky finger through the ring. Inserting the pinky through the ring also allows the user to release their grip on the knife for tasks that require both hands, while still keeping the Bushwacker close to hand and allowing it to easily be brought back into play. Finally, withdrawing the knife for the clipped position is made more secure by simply using the the ring for deployment.

Simplicity remains paramount for this modern classic and Burke has built this knife with quality materials and little fuss or aggrandizement. The result is a gentleman’s pocket knife with the DNA of your grandfather’s knife and the aesthetics of a modern master craftsman.

Behind the Scenes with Burke Knives

Dissatisfied with what the market offered to law enforcement personnel, Jim Burke, himself a member, worked with his father to build a liner locking folder together. Without any outside help, the duo used magazine photos to build a series of prototypes and the first Burke Knives design was born in 1994. As Burke’s profession continued to evolve from Fugitive Apprehension, SWAT, Narcotics Raid Team to Security Contracting and Personal Protection, so did his knives. Using first hand field knowledge, Burke Knives delivers high quality custom tools for soldiers and civilians that will save your life or sit beautifully amongst a collection.

Has a couple light scuffs, otherwise excellent condition.

About the Maker

Burke, Jim
Burke, Jim

"In 1989 I made my first knife; it wasn’t much, just a straight blade. I would have been about 15 at the time. I picked this up from my father, who picked it up from a distant uncle. As the years passed I continued to make a knife every now and then as my interest in cutlery grew. In 1994 I made the decision that I would enter into the profession of Law Enforcement. It didn’t take long for me to decide I needed a tough folding knife to carry while on duty. I looked at many production model folders at the time and none of them really suited me. So, my father and I took to the task of figuring out how to build a liner locking folder. This turned out to be a bit of an adventure, due to the fact that we had no help whatsoever. I only had pictures I had found in magazines to go by so we ended up building three prototypes before finding the right combination of utility and combat. Hence, my first knife design, The Number One Utility Folder was born. I ended up making them for fellow officers and friends for nothing more than material fees. Since 2005 Burke Knives has been bringing customers high quality edged tools. During this time we have made cutlery for Soldiers and high end collectors alike. I know we can provide you with a high quality product, one that will last you a lifetime. After all we will still be here, and we will always make combat essential edged tools."
