Layaway Information

Layaway Policies

We offer a layaway plan on select products so you may pay for your order over a period of 60 days. Products that are eligible for layaway will show "Layaway Available: Yes" on the product page.

Here's how it works:

The total amount of the order excluding shipping, tax, or fees is divided into three (3) equal payments. The first payment is due with the order, the second payment is due 30 days later, and the final payment is due 60 days after the order.

There is a $15 non-refundable fee for layaway orders. This fee is added to the first payment along with the shipping and any tax. The first payment is made when the order is placed.

Example: Your order total is $300 plus $12.75 shipping and handling. If you select the layaway option, your payments would be:

  • $127.75 (1/3 of purchase = $100 + $15 layaway fee + $12.75 shipping)
  • $100.00 (1/3 of purchase = $100)
  • $100.00 (1/3 of purchase = $100)

If your initial payment is made by credit card, we will automatically process the 2nd and 3rd payments at the appropriate time using the same credit card information. You will be reminded via email that a payment will be charged. If you need to change this for any reason, please contact us.

For payments made other than credit card, payment must be received within seven (7) days of the due date or the order is subject to cancellation. You will receive a reminder via email that a payment is due.

If you wish to complete payment early and have your order shipped, you may contact us at any time during the 60 day period. There is no penalty for prepayment.

Additional products may be added to a layaway order without penalty. A new payment schedule will be calculated based on when additional products are added.

If you wish to complete payment early and have your order shipped, you may contact us at any time during the 60 day period. There is no penalty for early payment.

Cancellations of layaway orders are subject to a restocking/processing fee of 10% of the order total (not including tax and shipping costs). This restocking fee is in addition to the $15 non-refundable layaway fee.

Happy Holidays! Our office will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as we spend time with our families. Regular office hours resume Thursday, 12/26.

Overview

With the Magnum Collection 2017, we take a completely new path. With Canadian knifemaker Wally Hayes, we were able to gain a knifemaker for this series who is world famous among knife collectors for his interpretations of traditional Japanese blade shapes. Being a mastersmith of the American Bladesmith Society (ABS), his knives not only transfer the spirit of traditional knives into the present time, they are also highly functional on top of being exceptional collector´s pieces. The Magnum Collection 2017 is based on a classic Japanese utility knife, which shows its versatility when used outdoors. The wide blade has a tip-orientated balance for an excellent chopping performance, while the cutting edge enthuses with the fascinating sharpness of a zero-grind edge. Built as a full tang, the knife consists of one solid piece of steel, granting maximum stability. In the traditional Japanese way, the handle features a "Same" (authentic rayskin) underlay, with a Tsuka-Ito, the resin enforced cotton wrapping. This handle style goes back to the Katana, the classical Samurai sword, and combines a perfect non-slip grip with traditional craftsmanship. The blade of the Magnum Collection 2017 is made out of 440C stainless steel and features a horizontal satin finish, which enhances the massive contour of the blade in an impressive way, .247" blade stock and 1.960" blade depth. The Magnum Collection 2017 is limited to just 1,999 pieces worldwide and comes in an exclusive collector´s box with a high quality leather sheath and certificate of authenticity. Comes with original box and papers. Excellent condition.

About the Maker

Hayes, Wally
Hayes, Wally

"I have been making knives for over 25 years. Before I started forging, my first knives were primarily tacticals. I have been a master bladesmith with the American Bladesmith Society since 1995. I am a member of the Canadian Knife Makers Guild and in the past served as it's president for 4 years. I have been in several magazines through out the world, French, German, Japanese, American and Greek. I have appeared on TV and radio shows several times to talk about my knives. I have produced 2 videos with Paladin Press on knife and sword making. I have taught knife making skills and classes and have been asked to exhibit my knives in a museum. I have attended knife shows in France, Canada and U.S. I enjoy forging high end damascus metals and creating knives that have a tactical flavor. For a short while I enjoyed serving in the Canadian Armed Forces. Knife making is my life and provides me great happiness and fulfillment."
