Visit this maker's website: Elson Knives. "I made my first knife when I was about 14 years old, I was inspired by a copy of BLADE magazine that I had happened across. In that same issue of BLADE, I found out about a group of Canadian Knifemakers and as soon as I had made the required number of knives I joined the Canadian Knifemakers Guild. I have never look back since! Currently I am 23 years old and a part time knifemaker, I specialize in mostly tactical and working knives. I believe every knife first and foremost is a tool and as such all my knives are designed to be used and used HARD! I can work with a variety of blade steels. I like to Use O-1 tool steel for most of my hard use knives and ATS 34 for my EDC knives. I will use any Steel a customer requests as long as it is the proper steel for the design. I prefer to use synthetic handle materials (Carbon fiber, G10, Micarta) as these materials are stable, strong and provide a variety of finishing options. All my designs begin life as a CAD drawing. It helps me visualize the design before I put it to steel. It is also a valuable tool allowing customers to see their custom knife in full detail before hand. I do everything on my knives in house. This includes profiling, grinding, heat treating and Sheaths (kydex and leather)."
