"Born and raised in South Africa within casting distance of the Indian Ocean, I developed a great love for the outdoors. The bushveld, rivers and ocean, with all the game that abounds there, formed an integral part of my life. I became a member of the "Southern African Knifemaker's Guild" in October 1986 and by the end of 1988 took up knifemaking as a full-time occupation. To date I have been awarded 38 "Certificates of Excellence" for individual knives exhibited at the annual shows and "Best Overall Knifemaker" on 5 separate occasions. I work from a one man shop (with a good view of the ocean) building knives to order, one at a time. My aim is to produce a wide variety of investor class, quality fixed blade knives for the collector and discerning user, and as such continually strive for the highest degree of craftsmanship possible." Rob passed away in 2016.
