Visit this maker's website: Alsdorf Custom Cutlery. "I have enjoyed collecting knives for the past 20+ years. At times it is hard to obtain folders from makers that I like (because they are in such demand) so a few years ago decided to try and make a slipjoint since I have a machinist background. It was a lot of work but with the help of some makers that were very helpful in answering my questions about the proper way to build and finish a slipjoint I finally figured it out. A few of the many are Elvan Allred, Paul Myers, Jim Harrison (Seamus), Chuck Hawes, Jim Krause. I am a full time maker. I use the stock removal method and all my work is sole authorship (I do all work in my shop including heat treating, engraving and embellishments). Blade steels I use are 440C and CPM154. Bolsters and Liners are Integral and made from hardened 416 S.S.. I also use hardened 416 S.S. for my Interframes. I prefer to use natural materials for Handles and Inlays such as Pearls, Smooth and Jig Bone, Stag, Ironwood, etc."
