Mitchell, Pat
Pat Mitchell was a renowned knifemaker from Sheffield, England. She and her husband, Stuart Mitchell, operated from the Portland Works in Sheffield starting in 19571. They handcrafted knives, and their work is considered near mint. All knives made by the husband and wife team were stamped “Pat Mitchell SHEFFIELD ENGLAND” within an oval and “HAND MADE” Their son, Stuart Mitchell Jr., has carried on the company. He started his full-time employment with his parents at the age of 15, learning each aspect of the trade from forging through grinding and finishing. The family business, Pat Mitchell (Cutlers), was named after Pat Mitchell. Sheffield England.
