Mitchell, Jeffery
I've lived in and around Red Level Alabama for the better part of 30 years. I started building knives in 2015. While working full time in the automotive industry, a customer brought up a fixed blade to show one of the floor managers I worked with. I looked at it, and said "Heck, I can probably do that too", and build my first knives on a little 1x30 Harbor Freight belt grinder. I'd made fixed blades for about 2 years, and in 2017, decided to take the leap and go full time. Since starting, I've made well over 2,000 knives, including slipjoints and lockbacks, which are my favorite. I spend a lot of time thinking of new and inventive ways to make knives, and all of my patterns are tweaked to represent my personal style. Though I don't have a particular material or pattern that I like, I do a lot of work in vintage micarta, especially Westinghouse, mother of pearl, carbon fiber, mammoth ivory, and stag. I love making knives, and it provides for my family. It also is a passion of mine to bring a customer's vision to life.
