Mack, Ben

Hello! My name is Ben Mack and live in northern Utah with my wife and our two cats. We (my wife and I, not the cats) love to spend as much time as we can outside enjoying our incredible state, whether that's camping, fishing, backpacking, trail running, or a combination of any number of these. I make knives in my spare time as a way to relax and let my creative juices flow a little bit. I take them on as many of these adventures as I can and I'm always thinking about new knives to make and try or ways that I could improve my designs. I made my first knife out of an old file when I was 16. I've always loved knives and to actually make one made me so excited. As soon as I finished it I was looking forward to making the next one and making it better than the first, and ever since then I've been making knives and striving to make each one better. I'm always trying to improve my grinding, fitting, finishing, heat treat, and aesthetics, and with every knife I find I learn more and more. I love that knives go with us on everything from everyday life to amazing adventures, and as they do they pick up scratches and dings that remind us of everything we've used them for. I make all of my knives to be functional and practical, so I hope that if you have one you use it and let it build up that honest wear.
