Batchelor, Bert T
A member of the Sioux nation, he passed on in May of '21, but in his 79 years of apparently very good life he spent time as a deputy, boxer, scuba diver, competitive shooter, gunsmith, reloader, knifemaker, decorated Rifle Expert in the 1st battalion, 9th Marine Raiders Fleet Marine Force in Vietnam (that unit was known as "the Walking Dead), Pinkerton guard, rose-grower, dog lover, volunteer counselor to PTSD vets, photographer, fly-fisherman, potter, painter, proud grandfather, and music fan (Grateful Dead to Gospel). He lived & died in Tallulah, Louisiana, just up the road from Natchez, and Vidalia, where Mr. Bowie had a busy day on the sandbar. A fitting region in which to pursue knife making; especially a good Bowie. Bert was a part time knifemaker, passed away in 2021.
