Overview
This one of a kind, steam punk style folder, is constructed from acid etched wrought iron and features ten steel gears, six of which actually function along with the blades' movement. It's a one hand opening lockback that utilize two large gears at the base of the blade instead of thumbstuds. At 9.125" long and weighing 1.5lbs, it's not what you'd call "pocket friendly", but on a desk or in a collection, it's something different that's a real conversation starter and fun to play with as well... The blade is wrought iron with a very sharp "high speed steel" cutting edge, has notched thumbrest and holes in the blade. The frame is acid etched wrought iron with precision cut steel gears and thirty visible bolts. Very early industrial looking with none of the glued on gear look common on many steam punk efforts. The lockbar is filed and checkered wrought iron with hardened wear surfaces. Ambidextrous opening and stamped "Williams" inside of the spine. The iron used to make this knife is from a 140 year old freight wagon wheel from Southern Oregon. Comes with COA and a zippered case. New from maker.
