Shipping Policy

Any customers with separate shipping and billing addresses are subject to follow up contact. If no contact can be made, your order will be cancelled. Please understand that this policy is to protect our customers from fraud and theft.

Shipping costs are calculated automatically when you checkout. Orders to P.O. Boxes or military addresses require shipping via USPS.

Orders placed by 3:00pm EST will be shipped the same day. All orders shipped USPS (including Express) may take an additional business day to process and ship. We strongly recommend shipping UPS if you need guaranteed delivery by a certain date.

For our international customers, you must call or email after ordering to arrange for duties/customs and declarations before we will ship your order. USPS Express International shipments with declarations greater than $200, incur an additional $15.00 fee for postage/insurance.

Overview

This Hybrid 40 by Filip De Coene of Ensizen features a bead blasted wharncliffe style blade with friction folder style opening. The handle is comprised of blue G10 scales and titanium liners over a bead blasted barrel spacer. Some minor carry marks in the bead blast finish of the screws but overall great condition.

About the Maker

De Coene (Ensizen), Filip

I am Filip De Coene, 48 years old, belgian designer and custom knifemaker .

Knifemaking gives me the opportunity to express my interests about design, explore new techniques and upgrade my skills. As designer I believe in the philosophy ""less is more"", simplicity gets priority in design and concept.

As autodidact I started making knives in 2000, due the minimum of available tools and machines I tried different techniques and developed custom jiggs to make folding knives. First knives were liner- and framelock folders , still making them but I mostly create minimal knife concepts, generally no locking knives with emphasis to ergonomics. I try to accomplish a clean and timeless appearance, a style I named ENSIZEN.

Ensizen as expression of thoughtful minimalism, functional design defined by a uncomplicated and timeless appearance , a continuously innovation to social accepted blade concepts with emphasis to safety and ergonomics.

The brand ensizen is crafted by combining the word ENSIS , the Latin term for blade , and ZEN , as minimalism highly inspired from the Japonese traditional design and the Zen philosophy.

For 2017 I am working on PRO versions of the well known Minimum and Hybrid folders and several fixed blades for hunting and bush crafting.
