Overview
This is a J. Russell Green River Bowie knife, 19th century. The Green River Works in Connecticut was founded in 1832, and the knives became the most popular among the western indians and frontiersmen, leading to the expression "Give it to 'em up the Green River".
This knife features a drop point blade with swedge, .143"blade stock, 1.11"blade depth, and full tang construction. The handle features a nickel silver guard, pinned stag grip, and nickel silver escutcheon. Comes with original leather sheath. Has some scuffs and scratches, great condition otherwise.
