Overview

The Mora Bushcraft Black - The blade has a black coating to help prevent rust and unwanted reflections. The spine of the blade is ground square with sharp corners for use with a firesteel or shaving tinder. The handle and sheath are a matching black. The sheath comes with the Bushcraft style belt loop that swivels for comfort when sitting, etc. This item is heavier than your standard Mora knife, but because the balance is just under your index finger it feels very quick.

Mora Eldris is a pocket-sized knife with a fixed blade that will amaze you with its versatility. The blade is short – just 2.2 in. (56 mm) long – giving you increased control with greater safety. Combine that with an ergonomic, comfortable handle and you have a knife that is perfect for 90% of backcountry tasks. It weighs a fraction of most fixed-blade knives, so it’s easy to bring with you no matter the size of your adventure. Carry it in your pack or pocket or wear it as a neck knife.

The blade is made of 12C27 Swedish stainless steel, heat treated according to the famous Morakniv recipe to hold extreme sharpness. It has a compound grind, a scandi grind at the heel for heavy-duty cuts and saber-type grind on the belly and tip for fine carving and food prep. It’s great for camp chores and making feather sticks, but obviously will not baton your kindling. And the square grind on the spine makes a perfect firesteel striker, throwing a shower of sparks.

About the Maker

Morakniv Sweden

Once upon a time There is a long tradition of knife making in Mora. We have been creating sharp knives for the rest of the world for more than 400 years. The seed of what would become one of the world’s most popular knife manufacturers was sown as early as 1891 when Frost-Erik Erson returned to the village of Östnor in Mora after four years of work as a lumberjack in North America. In the same year, he founded his timber sledge factory that manufactured sledges, trolleys, and knives for the workshop’s internal use. Back then, it was important to manage resources and to utilize the remaining material from the production was more or less taken for granted. It would later prove to be a successful business concept.
