Overview
Olde Towne Cutlery Great Eastern Cutlery Special Factory order. Pattern #321224 balloon half-whittler, in a dyed burnt-orange camel bone handle. This is a Pattern Production Premier too, as indicated by the Three-P etching on the blade.
Often called a balloon half-whittler, the knife has a clip point main blade and a pen as the secondary. Both blades work off of a single, double-ended backspring. The main blade has a long-pull and the secondary has a nail-nick. The shield is our trademark BOOT which is ONLY found on our SFO’s from Great Eastern Cutlery.
The finished product is incredible. The fit and finish is absolutely superb. The pull is about a 7 on a scale of 1-10; with 1 being sluggish and 10 being a nail breaker. So, it is at the perfect resistance for a really nice snap, but not too hard as the everyday carry.
The blade steel is the classic GEC pick of 1095 carbon steel. This is a steel that can take a very keen edge with good edge-retention. The main blade has our Olde Towne Cutlery etch, and polished nickel-silver bolsters add a touch of bling to the beautiful polished camel bone.
