Description: Riaan Manser is a full-time knifemaker from South Africa. Manser works under the brand name 3LegDog -- named for his pit bull cross dog which lost its hind leg when still a puppy. Manser and his dog spent many days and nights sitting along side each other in the knifemaking studio. Regretfully, his beloved dog passed away during the summer of 2018.
This A7 Flipper features a hand ground premium Bohler ELMAX stainless steel blade, with a Rockwell hardness of 62. ELMAX provides the extreme edge retention, high strength, and toughness a hard-use knife demands. High wear resistance in a steel usually means low corrosion resistance, but not with ELMAX. With this advanced steel, you get both properties, which makes it an excellent steel for high end folders. The hand satin finished blade features a high flat grind.
The blade runs on caged ceramic bearings. It is perfectly centered, has silky-smooth action, and is easily opened single-handed using the ambidextrous flipper tab. It drops shut with no resistance.
Black G-10 handle scales feature Mars Valley FatCarbon inlays on both sides. Bead blasted Gr6 titanium liners keep this full sized knife light yet strong. The backspacer is black G10. Raised, polished collars surround the pivot. The handle is completed with a bead blasted titanium pocket clip mounted for right-side, tip-up carry.
