Overview

It's back and better than ever! This is the first Goddard in over 10 years and the first ever exclusive variation! One of Spyderco’s earliest collaborations was a unique folding knife designed by Master Bladesmith Wayne Goddard. Over the years, this design has been produced in various forms and sizes and remains a favorite among dedicated Spyderco fans. The latest version of this enduring design is a Goddard Lightweight with our signature red handles. The signature shape of its injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle provides a reliable integral guard, a thin, flat cross-section, and a Volcano Grip™ texture for a secure grip. Designed for ambidextrous tip-up carry, the Goddard Lightweight features a reversible hourglass clip secured with a barrel bolt fixture that serves double duty as a lanyard hole. The business end of this unique knife consists of a CPM-4V blade with a full flat grind for superior edge geometry. Its clip-point profile provides an acute point for detail work and plenty of belly for slicing. The blade is joined to the handle by a high-strength back lock mechanism with a forward-positioned release for easy operation. This is sure to be a true collector's knife or just a great price for a lightweight knife in CPM-4V so don't miss out on this one!

About the Maker

Spyderco
Spyderco

Spyderco was founded in 1976 by Sal and Gail Glesser. Initially, the company focused on selling their first product the Tri-Angle Sharpmaker™, primarily at fairs and trade shows around the country. In 1981, the Glessers put down roots in Golden, Colorado and introduced the first Spyderco folding knife. That knife pioneered the concept of a round hole in the blade for one-handed opening, a clip on the handle for carry at the top of the pocket, and the option of a serrated edge for aggressive cutting performance. Those features revolutionized the knife industry and literally defined the form of the modern folding knife. Since then, Spyderco has steadily grown to become one of the leaders in the cutlery industry. In addition to a worldwide distribution network and manufacturing resources in the U.S., Japan, Taiwan, Italy, and China, our innovation has also earned us an impressive portfolio of patents, trademarks, and industry awards. More importantly, it has allowed us to earn the trust and loyalty of countless thousands of dedicated knife users around the world—an audience to whom we are extremely grateful.
