Overview
This SEAL ATAK Series A by Mad Dog Knives features a what was a black coated clip point blade with fileworked spine, .242" blade stock and 1.482" blade depth, hidden tang construction. The handle is made of black G-10 with lanyard hole. Comes with a kydex sheath with belt loop. Has scratches and pitting, most of the finish has worn off, has been used an carried in several theatres of war by at least two different Navy SEALs, otherwise good condition for its age and use. #A501 The Series A was the first run made for the civilian market after the original ATAK was accepted for the SEAL teams. Blade Steel: Starrett 496-01 High Carbon Tool Steel. This one comes with a letter of Provenance from the owner stating that he spent 30 years in the SEAL Teams starting in 1975 and ending in 2005. He served as a SEAL Operator, Instructor and served in the Asian Pacific and Middle East Theaters. It belonged to him for about 6 years and previous to that was issued to another SEAL.
