Layaway Information

Layaway Policies

We offer a layaway plan on select products so you may pay for your order over a period of 60 days. Products that are eligible for layaway will show "Layaway Available: Yes" on the product page.

Here's how it works:

The total amount of the order excluding shipping, tax, or fees is divided into three (3) equal payments. The first payment is due with the order, the second payment is due 30 days later, and the final payment is due 60 days after the order.

There is a $15 non-refundable fee for layaway orders. This fee is added to the first payment along with the shipping and any tax. The first payment is made when the order is placed.

Example: Your order total is $300 plus $12.75 shipping and handling. If you select the layaway option, your payments would be:

  • $127.75 (1/3 of purchase = $100 + $15 layaway fee + $12.75 shipping)
  • $100.00 (1/3 of purchase = $100)
  • $100.00 (1/3 of purchase = $100)

If your initial payment is made by credit card, we will automatically process the 2nd and 3rd payments at the appropriate time using the same credit card information. You will be reminded via email that a payment will be charged. If you need to change this for any reason, please contact us.

For payments made other than credit card, payment must be received within seven (7) days of the due date or the order is subject to cancellation. You will receive a reminder via email that a payment is due.

If you wish to complete payment early and have your order shipped, you may contact us at any time during the 60 day period. There is no penalty for prepayment.

Additional products may be added to a layaway order without penalty. A new payment schedule will be calculated based on when additional products are added.

If you wish to complete payment early and have your order shipped, you may contact us at any time during the 60 day period. There is no penalty for early payment.

Cancellations of layaway orders are subject to a restocking/processing fee of 10% of the order total (not including tax and shipping costs). This restocking fee is in addition to the $15 non-refundable layaway fee.

Overview

Enrique Pena Custom Knives are so precise and utterly perfect that the best, and maybe only, comparison to them would be the custom work of Sergey Rogovets. Anyone familiar with custom knives knows that this is about as high an honor as it gets because Sergey's work borders on clockwork precision. Enrique has been making knives since 2006 and began strictly with traditional-style folders. Now that he has transitioned into the tactical knife game, and transitioned quite nicely in our opinion, he's really beginning to take off. The precise fit, finish, blending of materials, appearance, and design are exactly what you look for in a custom handmade knife.

The X Series Raptor Front Flipper was a perfect gentleman's knife for most, but the three-finger handle just didn't work for some people. Enter the XL Raptor. This bad boy is large enough to be the only knife you carry yet still compact enough to serve dutifully as a backup blade. The contoured four-finger handle is comfortable to hold and use while remaining almost unnoticeable in the pocket.

Opening the blade, once you get the hang of it, couldn't be much easier. The jimping on the thumb ramp is highly functional, you simply follow its path toward the spine of the knife, and it pops out with authority each and every time. We love the functionality of the reverse tanto blade and its classic look paired with the bolstered handle combination and various inlays; Enrique never disappoints when it comes to aesthetics. The XL Raptor Front Flipper is just the right size for this knife, and we absolutely adore it.

You might ask, what does X Series stand for? Well, it is a designation Enrique is giving to knives designed and marketed by him but built by a third-party company. They're built in a production environment while still maintaining the highest quality standards to bring you a more affordable knife. This X Series is not to be confused with a mid-tech or a custom piece. It is totally a production knife and a high-quality one at that. The XL Raptor Front Flippers are made by Reate and produced in limited quantities.

Peña, Enrique

"My name is Enrique Peña and I'm from Laredo Texas. I have always been fascinated with knives since I can recall, especially slip joint knives in traditional patterns. I got introduced to knife making by a local friend (Armando Flores) which helped me get started and made my first knife which was a single blade slip joint in my own shop in late 2005. Later I visited with Bill Ruple and Rusty Preston and they helped me refine my skills. I have become a full time knife maker and look forward to achieving the level of skill of Bill Ruple and Rusty Preston. I mainly make single and double blade slip joints and occasionally single and double blade lock back knives in traditional patterns and currently like to make big folders such as sodbusters, Case bulldogs, Case folding hunters and so on. I like to use natural handle material such as stag and bone and for blade steel I use ATS-34 and CPM154 and 416 and 410 for liners and bolsters."
