Overview
Based on his custom MS3 flipper, Michael Zieba has teamed up with Maniago Knife Makers (MKM) to offer a high quality production version in the Flame. Retaining the compact, sleek and minimalist design, the Flame provides a more accessible version without sacrificing anything in terms of design or performance. This version comes with a Stonewashed M390 Drop Point blade and sandblasted, blue anodized titanium handle construction.
Brand new, direct from MKM of Italy.
Blade: Riding smooth on a ball bearing pivot system, the slender Drop Point blade of the Flame deploys with a flick of the micro flipper tab. At under 3 inches in overall length, the stonewashed M390 blade offers plenty of cutting edge for general use while still being able to be carried in most jurisdictions. Jimping on the spine pairs with the flipper tab guard for security and control in use while the fine point and flat grind offer excellent performance.
Handle: A simple, tapered and contoured handle is formed from two slabs of solid, blue anodized titanium with a partial stainless steel back spacer for balance. Secure in the grip thanks to the distal taper, the handle is quite comfortable in multiple grip positions. Integral to the back slab, the frame lock mechanism is equipped with a steel lock face insert for smooth, reliable operation and rock solid lock up for the life of the knife. Slotted screw construction and a blue anodized pivot ring round out the construction.
Carries via a right hand, tip-up, 3D titanium pocket clip.
Bohler M390: Bohler M390 has become an extremely popular choice for high-end user grade knives thanks to its extreme edge retention. M390 also has a good corrosion resistance, meaning most users can avoid problems by simply wiping off their blade after each use. Another great feature of this steel is its ability to resist burr formation during sharpening. Comparable steels are CTS-204P and Duratech 20CV.
Comes with original box, zippered case and papers. Excellent condition.
