Overview

This Flesheater Utility Bolo by Jim Hammond features black linen micarta scales. The blade is satin finished with hand rub satin finished flats, sharpened top edge and notched thumbrest, .233" blade thickness and 2.105" blade depth, full tapered tang construction. Feels great in hand, light and moves through the air like a breeze. Comes with a zippered case and email corespondance between Jim Hammond and the original purchaser. The Handle was inspired by Filipino Escrima Master Arsenio Advincula allowing four different grip positions facilitating maximum fighting efficiency for three primary combative distances plus a forward working grip. In the forward grip the index finger is wrapped around the lower guard for maximum control work. First position "modified hammer" grip is forward, finger against the guard. Second position the grip is re-positioned toward the rear for maximum reach. Third the hand is shifted another finger groove back for chopping. This knife is in excellent condition. Truly a classic.

NOTE FROM JIM HAMMOND:

Looking back at my records, that looked to be #5 of this model from my Pelham, AL. shop. The series serial # would be to the right bottom of the logo as shown in the obverse photo.

I show that knife steel was CPM S30V. Your description was correct with it having a brushed-satin finish on the bevels and a bright, hand-rubbed satin finish on the flats and perimeter. It also did not have one of my sheaths with it at delivery.

It was completed on 12 November, 2020.
