Note from the consigner:
I bought that knife on the East coast in the mid 70s. I was told by the seller (a resale shop owner that had tons of things from England) that it was 50 plus years old when I purchased it, and it probably came from England. The English sell items of deceased people to avoid the estate taxes that come due at death. I bought it thinking it might be a knife made by Eric Anthony Sykes. The co designer of the Fairbain-Sykes fighting knife made popular by the British special forces. Sykes and Fairbain broke up their partnership and went their separate ways. I am very reluctant to label this knife as made by Eric Sykes, however, I have never found another maker as Sykes or another knife labeled Sykes.
