Overview
Note from the maker.
This is the Forth in a very limited number of steam punk knives I'm doing, and being serial number four, it earned the name "Quarto".
The frame is an anodized titanium alloy and the blade is of high contrast Damascus in a twist pattern. Gears rotate with blade movement as do the two brass arms, which are part of the lock system.
To operate, turn the knife blade up and with your index finger pull the lock yoke back, compressing the coil spring slightly. Next, from either the left or the right side, unfold the bronze key and rotate blade open or closed.
Note... keys fold both directions and by leaving one opened out on the far side of the knife, it will set in a nice display position.
Metals used in making this piece include bronze, brass, stainless steel, wrought iron, two different types of Damascus, spring steel, tool steel and chromed steel. Total of 47 parts/pieces.
Marked "Williams #4" on the underside of the left rocker arm.
Finished 6-20-23.
Comes with a zippred case and COA. New from maker!
