Overview

This auto by Charlie Ochs features a black blade and black aluminum handle. Nice lockup and blade seating. Excellent condition. Comes with a zippered case.

Some info we found out about this knife:

Ron Miller and Reese Weiland made it, but Charlie Ochs sold them. Charlie Ochs does get credit for them.

We sent photos of it to Reese Weiland and he confirmed that he built it and it's Authentic.

He also told me the story of Ochs, their sales guy.

If you want to know the story, Reese Weiland told his story about 6 Months after I talked to him.

About how he worked for MIller and MIller and him came up with the Button Auto and sold it to the Seals and how they hired Ochs to start selling them

Then Ochs started making them and selling them under his name.

About the Maker

Ochs, Charles
Ochs, Charles

OX Forge is the trademark of Charles F. Ochs III. Charles has been making custom knives since 1973 and has been a full time maker since 1986. In 1989 he was named a Master Bladesmith by the American Bladesmith Society, and became a member of the Knifemakers Guild in 1988. The OX Forge Trademark is derived from the Ochs surname, which is of German origin, and is classically pronounced "OX". The OX Forge trademark is known by knife collectors worldwide as the mark of a finely crafted forged blade, exhibiting superior quality and performance.

Weiland, Reese

"My interest in knives began when I was 12 years old. I had an uncle, an amateur archaeologist, who made knives out of saw blades. After receiving a book on how to make knives from him one Christmas, I made a sword out of a piece of junk and gave it to my uncle. I became a member of the Knifemaker's Guild in 1988. The following year, I made my first folding knife."
