Story from the consignor:
The General served in WWII and maybe Korea. It is obvious that he never used the belt and holster. He and his wife, who was the first woman to rise to the rank of full Colonel, were working in The Pentagon after the Korean War. I got all this info from Cmd. Query USN, who was a Carrier pilot during Vietnam. I hated to pry any further about his mother as she was divorced from his father, who I knew very well; he was a good man. Bill never talked about his mother. SO, he gave to me the belt and holster about 43 years ago. He didn't pay much attention to firearms, but knew that I did, so he gave the belt and holster to me. I guess that his mother had given it to him at some stage.
