"My name is Peter Carey and I've been making custom knives since 1997, specializing in Tactical Folders and Dress Tactical Folders, I also make Fixed Blade Tacticals, Hunters and Utility knives. Current blade steels are CPM154, S35VN, Stainless steel Damascus from various makers and Stellite 6K. I prefer high tech man made handle materials like Carbon Fiber, Titanium, Zirconium and G10. For Dress Tacticals I use Pearl, Mammoth Ivory, Exotic woods and MokuTi or Timascus. All my folders have custom pocket clips designed specifically for each model, also a custom pivot of my design, "The Original Carey Pivot". I make all my knives with my hands using manual machines in my shop from designs I've drawn by hand. I strive to make the best knife I possibly can with the best materials money can buy. Knives are one of man's oldest and most useful tools, I think everyone should own one or two!"

Hara, Koji

A native of Japan, Koji Hara was born in 1949 in Imari City, and is one of the most traveled of Japanese knifemakers, attending shows throughout his home country as well as over the United States and Europe. When he began making his first knives in 1988, they were his versions of Bob Loveless designs. Three years later he held a one-man knife show in Seki City, Japan, heart of the production cutlery industry. It was at this point in his career that he realized he had to make and sell knives of his own concept and design if he was going to succeed. In 1994 Koji had become a Probationary Member of the American Knifemakers Guild, and in 1997 a Voting Member. During this period he was participating in at least five American shows per year, and would soon be attending shows in Europe. Annually, this prolific maker attends two knife shows in Japan, in addition to having maybe two one-man shows, usually in smaller communities, where collectors don't visit the larger cities. He feels these small shows enable more and more people to become familiar with custom knives. He has received awards for his folders such as "Best in Show" and "Most Innovative" in several international knife shows. Koji primarily uses a powdered stainless steel known as Cowry-Y, made by Daido Steel in Japan, for his blades. It holds an excellent cutting edge and polishes to a high mirror finish. Although one of the drawbacks of powdered steel is its weakness towards lateral impact, this can be corrected through proper heat-treating. Koji also makes knives featuring ATS-34, D-2, 440C and other steel blades, based on customer preference. His preferred method of making blades is via stock removal. A folder specialist, he often carves the handle material into a terraced landscape to feature his classic "Air-Step" design.

"I've been making knives since 2008. I'm a former Marine and avid outdoorsman. I've loved knives for my entire life and I'm constantly thrilled to be making them. Most of my designs are geared toward outdoor/tactical use. My products are proudly made in the USA and any outsourcing for waterjet, etc. is also done in the USA."

Daracsteel, (Dario Zadravec)

I am a full time knife maker from Croatia, SouthEast Europe, and I was in love with knives all my life. I made my first knife back in 2008. It was a primitive knife by any standard, made out of piece of steel that was laying around the garage and not even heat treated. But it was a start of a passion on which I spent following years experimenting with designs, perfecting the grind technique and finishing touches and gradually equipping my workshop. Now I feel like I’m ready to share my passion with the rest of the world.

2018 will mark the 10 year anniversary of beginning this adventure and becoming a full time custom knife maker. For some reason, I’ve always strived to fly under the radar and quietly grind away. Happy to do something I love and support my family with it. Taking a passion to work and create with your hands, and making that into a career is an intensely personal journey. If I’m honest though, it has been a saving grace in my life as I’ve struggled to overcome life’s tragedies and set-backs. Like an oak cask to whiskey however, this process has both refined and distilled me as a person and as an artist. A full decade later, I’m humbled by all the support and recognition from those who have found me and purchased a piece of my life’s work. I’m built up by the process of being able to build, and that wouldn’t be possible without such a loyal customer base and trusting dealers. My family and I thank you all!
