Overview
This dagger by Edward Barnes and Sons features a satin finished double edged blade with .165" blade stock and .811" blade depth, hidden tang construction. The handle has a nickel silver guard and a silver handle. I'm not sure if it is actually silver, it could be something else. Has some scratches, patina, has been used and resharpened, has some rust near the guard on the ricasso, otherwise in fair condition.
Isaac Barnes (son of Edward) put out a warrant in 1864 warning others that imprisonment and a heavy fine would be imposed for using the U ”star” S trademark. Barnes was known for producing many knives for the U.S. market and the company even had in office in Manhattan.
