I am Nathan Goodrich and have loved watches since I was a young boy. The name Four Forty Four PM was chosen because that is the time that I was born and that series of numbers has always been of much significance in my life and so I felt it was quite the fitting name for my brand. My father always wore a Seiko Bullhead Chronograph watch and I was always very fascinated with it. It was the watch that intrigued me to become interested in collecting watches. Over the years I have owned many watches of various brands but Seiko in particular holds a special place in my heart and is the brand that I am most fond of. Throughout my life my affection for watches has continued to grow and now I find that it has become somewhat of an infatuation, especially when it comes to customizing them into something that I can put my own touch on in order to make it more personalized to my style. Seiko makes such versatile and affordable watches that are great just as they are but what is even greater about them is that they are so perfect for modifying into custom creations. I find that there are many watch enthusiasts out there who are much like myself and therefore I enjoy sharing my custom creations with the world. It is my hope that I will be fortunate enough to have my mods seen and worn around the world and that it will spark that same interest in others that got me on my path to loving watches as a kid.
Seiko
The story of Seiko began in 1881, when a 21 year old entrepreneur, Kintaro Hattori, opened a shop selling and repairing watches and clocks in central Tokyo. In 1892 Kintaro Hattori bought a disused factory in Tokyo and Seikosha was formed (In Japanese, "Seiko" means "exquisite", "minute" or "success" and "sha" means house). It was here that Kintaro Hattori produced his first clocks and these marked the beginnings of a company that was to become one of the world's most important manufacturers of timepieces.
