Layaway Information

Layaway Policies

We offer a layaway plan on select products so you may pay for your order over a period of 60 days. Products that are eligible for layaway will show "Layaway Available: Yes" on the product page.

Here's how it works:

The total amount of the order excluding shipping, tax, or fees is divided into three (3) equal payments. The first payment is due with the order, the second payment is due 30 days later, and the final payment is due 60 days after the order.

There is a $15 non-refundable fee for layaway orders. This fee is added to the first payment along with the shipping and any tax. The first payment is made when the order is placed.

Example: Your order total is $300 plus $12.75 shipping and handling. If you select the layaway option, your payments would be:

  • $127.75 (1/3 of purchase = $100 + $15 layaway fee + $12.75 shipping)
  • $100.00 (1/3 of purchase = $100)
  • $100.00 (1/3 of purchase = $100)

If your initial payment is made by credit card, we will automatically process the 2nd and 3rd payments at the appropriate time using the same credit card information. You will be reminded via email that a payment will be charged. If you need to change this for any reason, please contact us.

For payments made other than credit card, payment must be received within seven (7) days of the due date or the order is subject to cancellation. You will receive a reminder via email that a payment is due.

If you wish to complete payment early and have your order shipped, you may contact us at any time during the 60 day period. There is no penalty for prepayment.

Additional products may be added to a layaway order without penalty. A new payment schedule will be calculated based on when additional products are added.

If you wish to complete payment early and have your order shipped, you may contact us at any time during the 60 day period. There is no penalty for early payment.

Cancellations of layaway orders are subject to a restocking/processing fee of 10% of the order total (not including tax and shipping costs). This restocking fee is in addition to the $15 non-refundable layaway fee.

Overview

Pingvin 3.0

This is the 3rd variation of the Pingvin Multi-Tool.  In this variation we deleted the bottle opener and pocket clip and added a built-in pocket “slip” and Phillips/Flat Head driver with hex window.  This version of the tool also features a textured ramp for better grip in the hand.

The tool itself is made out of 1075 steel that has been cut out using a fiber laser.  Steel grade 1075 is actively used in various industrial fields as a material for the manufacture of clutch discs, spindles, springs of various sizes, engine valves and other parts operating with friction conditions under the influence of vibrational loads. Steel grade 1075 is also commonly used to manufacture cold steel arms.  The steel is then softened around the edges, heat treated, oil quenched, and tempered to a Rockwell hardness of 62HRC +/- 1.

After the heat-treating process, a ramp is ground on the bottom for the prybar, as well as a glass break point on the front of the ring.

The final application is a DLC (Diamond Like Coating) Black finish that protects the tool from corrosion and light scratching.

A hardened US Made Phillips/Flathead driver is then installed in the handle itself.  Since the tool is precision laser cut, the tool has a tight fit in the drive hex to stay in place.

About the Maker

Scorpion 6 Knives
Scorpion 6 Knives

"In the US Army, units and individual teams are given call signs to avoid giving away identities over enemy radios. The number after the call sign signifies your role within the unit. The number 6 is the command element. In 2003-2004 an elite Army Infantry unit, call sign ""Scorpion"" roamed the mountains of Afghanistan looking to make friends with the locals. This is where Scorpion 6 came from. After leading over 26 successful operations and countless patrols I exited the US Army with an honorable discharge and went into the automotive field. While in the automotive industry I had the ability to work in all areas from sales to racing, technician, parts and service. Going to bigger and faster machines I graduated into the aviation field where I spent the majority of my time servicing and handling private jets. A few more years passed and I started working for a knife manufacturing company. During this time period I learned an overwhelming set of skills from other great craftsmen ranging from grinding to machining to advanced folding knife assembly. After a few years of experience I wrote and produced a manual for free hand grinding and assembly as well as introduced methods for advanced repair and custom finishing techniques. It was at this pinnacle, I decided to branch out on my own and create Scorpion 6 Knives. My purpose is simple and unique. I want to bring precision hand built pieces of art to the customer that can be carried into combat or showcased on the shelf. Lifetime Warranty, Combat Proven and American Made."
