Dervish Knives (John Gonzalez)

"My interest in knives and swords began in adolescence, but it wasn’t until the late 1990’s when I discovered my passion for custom knives. I was initially drawn to tactical pieces, but my approach to knife making is largely inspired via the myriad of elegant and lethal designs from diverse cultures and eras. Due to my background in graphic arts and illustration, designing knives has always been the easiest part of knife making for me. Aspiring to create aesthetically pleasing knives which excel in both form and function, I draw heavily on time-tested designs, geometries, and materials."

Rexford, Todd

My fascination with knives began as a young boy attending numerous gun shows with my father. Every now and again I was able to pick out a knife for myself and soon my collection began to grow. As I got older, sport shooting, hunting, fishing, and automobiles consumed my life. I went to work in my father's garage and continued on to college in order to obtain my engineering degree. After college I continued to work in the garage until I moved out of state. It was then my fascination with knife-making began. Starting with simple machinery and hand files (plus lots of blood and sweat), I produced my first knife. From then on the addiction was set in stone. I strive to learn and improve the skills and designs I use on my knives with every piece that leaves the grinder. New materials and procedures are coming out every day and I take a lot of joy in learning everything possible about what works, and what does not when it comes to edged tools.

Medford Knife and Tool

Greg Medford is a native Arizonan and an ardent American patriot. He is dedicated to hand-crafting and small-scale manufacturing as a part of the Small Factory Industrial Rebirth of America. A life long lover of all things edged, he is no newcomer to the design and use of knives. He has been restoring and using period Japanese swords since the mid 1980s. Greg is a professional Martial Artist and hand-to-hand instructor, as well as a close quarters master level instructor and has a very strong background in close quarters bare-handed weapon defense and disarms. He holds a Commercial Pilot’s License and is an FAA certified single/multi/instrument flight instructor. He holds a surface level aerobatic competency card for flying airshows and has been a leader in the Warbird Aviation community for years. When Greg flew airshows professionally, he was not only the pilot, but he built his planes, rebuilt their engines, and even imported exotic planes from around the world for restoration and use. All of these experiences uniquely prepared him for the design and manufacture of advanced edged weapons and tools. Greg served in the United States Marine Corps from 1988-1992 as an M.O.S. 0311. He was part of “New England’s Own” and deployed for Operations Desert Storm and Shield in 1990-1991.

Cope, Ed

Ed Cope is a custom knife maker from Hawaii who learned to make knives from legendary craftsman Tom Mayo. Ed's style closely mimics his mentor's, as does his fit and finish, which is precisely what makes his knives so appealing.

Lambert, Kirby

"I believe that in order to make a superior knife you must use superior materials. That is why I work with top grade, high-tech materials. The steels I generally use in my folders and fixed blades are CPM S30v, CPM 154 CM, BG-42, and Damasteel. The handle materials I mostly use range from G-10, Micarta, and carbon fiber to mother of pearl and fossilized mammoth ivory. I exclusively use 6al/4v titanium for the liners in my folders. I mostly make my bolsters from materials such as 6al/4v titanium, damascus, carbon fiber, timascus or mokume. When making Japanese style blades I generally use 1050, 1084, or L6. The handles will usually consist of a phenolic handle covered in stingray skin then wrapped with a nylon cord that has been impregnated with resin to give it maximum strength, toughness, and longevity. I am constantly striving for perfection in creating, for what I feel is one of the highest quality knives on the market today."

Marsh, Jeremy

"People often ask how I got involved in knifemaking. I have always carried a pocket knife, and have always been intrigued and wanted to own a custom made folding knife. I started making rings from titanium for friends and family, and in 2003, my dad came home one day from work with a couple issues of Blade magazine. After a couple days of paging through the magazines, I was on the phone ordering materials for two folding knives. After tearing apart my Benchmade to get the general idea of how these things work, and multiple E-mails to David Broadwell (who took the time to answer every question I had in great detail and who I still owe an extra large 120 oz. half diet half regular big gulp) for pointers, I built my first two knives. These two knives ended up being Christmas gifts. The knives went to my Dad and my Father -in- law. I have been an addict ever since. I am a third generation Die Maker, a position I still hold."

Rogers, Richard

"I have been making knives since 1996. I've made a wide variety of styles. My latest designs and direction have been into gentlemen’s tacticals. Form follows function is alive and well in my shop. I strive for excellence in my work. Each product is a reflection of my work ethic, my dedication to detail, and my insistence on quality. I am known for my fine fit and finish; and I don't take that lightly. "Good enough" is not acceptable in my shop. My goal, with every knife I make, is to make it the best example of what that knife should be. This also carries over to the EDC gear. I have won over 50 awards during my career, including two “Best of Show” at the Blade Show in Atlanta."

"My name is Bastien Coves and I have been a french Knifemaker for over 12 years and I recently had the chance to move to the USA. I live now with my wife and my 2 daughters near Orlando, FL. I started my knife collection when I was 7 and I’m very experienced with carrying, using, and playing each day with different kinds of knives (fixed blades, Karambits, balisongs, Katanas, folding knives, push daggers, etc.). My work as a knifemaker and knife designer pushes me to make lots of cutting tests each week over the past 12 years, which allows me to better create and warranty the perfect knife to my customers. I've done work for the military, law enforcement, French special units, martial arts instructors, martial arts students, collectors, etc. My work is my passion and I’m lucky to live it each day, and to meet and share it with other people who are passionate about knives."

"I have been making knives since 2005. All knives are 100% hand ground using the stock removal method. Each knife is freehand ground one at a time so each one will be unique. I am using water jet cut blanks on two of my models right now. This allows me to produce more knives while still maintaining high quality that I strive for in each blade. My knives are made to be used hard and I guarantee all my knives against breakage during normal use. I take pride in my work and stand behind each piece 100%, no knife will leave my shop unless I would buy it myself."
