Here is a note I got from the consigner with a little more info on the knife and maker:
For your information, this knife was made by John Robert Wilcox from Fairmont West Virginia, sometime in the late 90's - 2005 range. The information on the Arizona Custom site is only a little confusing, as everyone who knew him called him Bob! Bob was a friend and I have a number of his pieces so I can match the "Wilcox" stamp with those I own as I got to help put that mark on a knife he had custom built for me. Bob was a great human being, father, friend and a pretty good bladesmith for being self-taught. He used broken pieces of bandsaw blades for his stock and would tell purchasers that they just needed to take proper care of the steel and it would take care of you. He passed on March 24, 2015 and I regret I didn't get more time to learn more from him. I thought the "back story" would give an interested collector another reason to put this piece in their collection and even to good use. Bob would be pleased with that.
