About the Maker
Brickman, Mike
Michael "Mike" Brickman is a retired Denver Firefighter and US Army veteran based in Colorado and an avid deer and elk hunter. Mike has been a hobby knife-maker sin the 1990s, but began making full time in 2012 when he retired from the fire service. He runs a one-man shop and enjoys making practical yet visually appealing "user" knives handmade for the hiker, hunter, and outdoorsman that won't break the bank, and can be passed down to the next generation. Mike works in carbon steel , and while he occasionally still forges a blade, uses primarily stock removal techniques due to physical limitations. Most of his blades are American Frontier and Western inspired, old classics, with some neo-tribal and Japanese influences occasionally. Mike does his own leather work, and each piece is truly a one-of-a-kind piece of functional blade art.
