Rigid Knives
Rigid Knives have an interesting history! The brand was started in the early 1970s by a few knife makers who were previously working for Buck Knives1. They decided to branch off and start their own company with their own designs. The original Rigid knives were semi-custom knives made by two individuals working together1. These knives were known for being overbuilt and durable, often referred to as "tanks". The venture was short-lived, lasting only a few years. Since then, the Rigid brand has been used by various manufacturers in the USA and Japan1. The original Rigid knives are considered the true Rigid knives, and they are highly sought after by collectors today The original Rigid Knives, made by the founders Bill Duff and Don Collum, included several models. Some of the notable ones are: 1. R-9 Apache: A bowie knife with engraving. 2. RG-1: Made in Japan. 3. RG-23: Also made in Japan. 4. R-19 Razorback: A fixed blade knife. 5. Ripper: Another fixed blade knife. These knives were known for their durability and overbuilt design, often referred to as "tanks." They are highly sought after by collectors today
