Gustavo, Luiz
Photographer by profession, Luiz Gustavo Gonçalves has been fascinated by knives since he was a child. At the age of 5, he won his first knife and has since been enjoying and seeking to learn about cutlery. At the end of 2010, he took a course of initiation to cutlery and during the year of 2011 he dedicated his little time available to the assembly of his workshop. In early 2012 he began to produce the first pieces, still limited by lack of time, but always dedicated, in search of perfection with each new piece created. He was then accepted as disciple of the great cutler Eduardo Ceneviva Berardo , to whom he has deep admiration, respect and gratitude, who in an altruistic way taught this great art in its smallest details, promoting a rapid development of the disciple. Serious work and dedication were rewarded, and in June 2016, in Atlanta, USA, he was awarded the Journeyman Smith title by the American Bladesmith Society, becoming the lesser-time Brazilian cutler with that title.
