Peacock, Dale (D.E. Peacock)
I was raised on a farm in southern Oklahoma. The hobbies I was most interested in was hunting and fishing. When I graduated high school, I joined the Marine Corps. I spent 4 years in the Marines with a tour in Viet Nam as a scout sniper. After I got out of the Marines, I went to Alaska. I worked construction as a welder on offshore drilling rigs in the Cook Inlet. My last winter in Alaska was on the north slope. I spent 7 ½ years in Alaska before moving back to Oklahoma, where I worked as a welding shop supervisor for a machine and tool company. Through all my travels and activities, I developed a tremendous passion for high quality knives. I made my first knife in 1992. Since then I have never quit trying to perfect my craft. I realize it is hard to make any money making knives when working with polished and fileworked cpm s90v and cpm s110v, but for me, I wouldn't be satisfied with anything less. In the beginning, I tried professional heat treating services and was always disappointed. I just couldn't get the performance I was looking for. I do all my own heat treating with a 35 hour liquid nitrogen quench. If you purchase one of my knives, I hope it is one of the best knives you have ever owned.
