An Amish knifemaker that lives in Dover, Delaware, Andy R. Byler has just recently began making knives in 2010 but has always had it "in his blood". He began learning the craft in his grandfather's shop, holding the materials as his grandfather did the finish work on the knives.Andy began by using 1095 carbon steel but now uses mostly CPM 154. He makes all types of knives, and prefers to make boning and butcher knives but says he wants to begin to make Bowies. Andy has been in the Kitchen cabinet business for over 20 years.
