Parsons, Pete
Pete Parsons is a Montana knifemaker. "I began making knives after finding an Elk antler shed one spring day. I though to myself...what can I make with this antler. After deciding to make a knife, I discovered knife kits that come complete except the handle that you add yourself.I completed a couple of kits and had a real desire to up the ante and make a knife from start to finish (sole authorship), I did a search on the internet and found Ed Caffrey, ABS Master Bladesmith lived in a town close by and offered courses in knifemaking and basic forging. Making a knife the old fashioned way with a hammer and an anvil appealed to me. I completed Ed's course and began making quality knives that looked good and (more importantly) performed better than store bought knives. The next step was discovering the beauty of Damascus steel. It is very work intensive, taking almost as long to make the steel as it takes to finish the rest of the knife and sheath, but it is worth it!"
