Neal, Robert S (R.S.N.)

Robert S. "Bob" Neal was a custom knifemaker based in Monticello, Kentucky, renowned for his unique and innovative designs. He was particularly famous for creating curved traditional slipjoint knives, which garnered significant attention from both knife makers and collectors. These knives featured a continuous, arcing curve, blending traditional patterns with a surreal twist. Neal's craftsmanship was entirely handmade, often utilizing materials like D2 steel, brass liners, and deer antler covers. His approach to knifemaking was driven by creativity and resourcefulness, aiming to utilize materials that might otherwise be wasted. Tragically, Bob Neal passed away in 2009 following complications from a motorcycle accident. His passing was a significant loss to the knifemaking community, where he was respected for his talent and unique contributions to the craft.
